Sunshine, house classics and a garden full of good company - Ibiza Summer Party in Nottingham

Affinity members swapped the city streets for a stylish outdoor garden on Saturday afternoon for our Ibiza Summer Party, a daytime social built entirely around the music, the sunshine and a crowd ready to dance. Set in the leafy surrounds of the Secret Garden in Nottingham, it was the perfect way to bottle a little of that White Isle feeling without leaving the East Midlands.

From the moment people started arriving at 2:00pm, the atmosphere was exactly what we'd hoped for. Drinks in hand, sun on our backs, and an open-air soundtrack of house, Ibiza classics and feel-good dance anthems drifting across the garden. Our host Claire had everyone chatting and settled in no time, and a few of the group who'd come along on their own were soon part of the crowd like they'd known everyone for years.

There's something about a daytime party that just works. No late-night rush, no shouting over the noise, just a relaxed afternoon that slowly builds as the DJs find their groove. And find it they did. The tempo lifted through the afternoon, and before long the polite toe-tapping had turned into a proper dancefloor, right there under the open sky.

That's the magic of an outdoor set. The music carries differently in the fresh air, and when a familiar Ibiza anthem drops you feel it lift the whole garden at once. You could see it land on people's faces, that little moment where everyone remembers exactly where they last heard it and decides, then and there, to dance.

Between the tunes there was plenty of the good stuff these afternoons are really about: easy conversation, shared rounds, and that friendly, no-pressure atmosphere that makes Affinity events so enjoyable.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and threw themselves into the spirit of it, and to Claire for hosting and making sure everyone was included.

Meeting new people, sharing great moments and creating memories is what these events are all about, and Saturday delivered all three in the sunshine.
