Skeletons, scare actors and fast track passes: our Early Halloween Night Out at Xtreme Scream Park
We got Halloween started early with a trip to Xtreme Scream Park at Twinlakes Park, near Melton Mowbray.
By night the park is a different place. Festoon lights strung over the paths, smoke drifting about, pumpkins and hay bales round every corner, and a giant skeleton crawling out of the grass that made for a good first photo.
The scare actors were out in force between the mazes. Our favourites were a pair of creepy porcelain-faced dolls riding round on an tandem bike, who were somehow more unsettling than anything inside! With fast track passes in hand we could get round more of the mazes and spend less time queuing.
It was a small group, which made it easy to stick together in the dark and compare notes on who screamed loudest afterwards.
