Limbo, karaoke and a proper Hawaiian twist: our Summer Surf Party LFM in Nottingham

Affinity members brought a splash of the tropics to the city on Friday evening for our Last Friday of the Month social, held this July at The Embankment's Hawaiian Surf Party. Bright colours, floral shirts and a warm summer buzz set the tone from the moment people arrived at 7pm, and with our LFM socials being completely free it made for an easy, feel-good way to kick off the weekend.

Our hosts Claire and Tünde had everyone chatting and settled in no time, which is exactly what these evenings are all about.

Then came the games. The limbo bar came out, and it turned out Terry was more than happy to lead from the front, first up and setting the bar (quite literally) for everyone else. Nilesh followed close behind, though we suspect his real motivation was the tokens for free shots he was busy collecting for himself and Tünde. All in good fun, and plenty of laughs.

From there the night took an adventurous turn, with a rather interesting and loud bus trip into Nottingham to keep the evening going. We rounded things off at the Lace Bar for a spot of RnB dancing and a proper go on the karaoke. Kerry, Nilesh, Terry and Tünde took to the stage and by all accounts nobody was letting the microphone go without a fight!

A big thank you to everyone who came along and threw themselves into the spirit of it, from the limbo to the last song, and to Claire and Tünde for hosting and making sure nobody was left standing on their own.

Meeting new people, sharing great moments and creating memories is what these evenings are all about, and Friday delivered all three with a Hawaiian twist.
