Good coffee, easy company and a proper natter: our Coffee Morning in West Bridgford

Affinity members gathered on Saturday morning for a relaxed daytime social at Rok Coffee House on Melton Road in West Bridgford, one of the newest and nicest spots to have opened in the village. Eight of us came along, and by the time the first flat whites landed on the table the conversation was already flowing.

There is a lot to be said for a morning event. No late nights, no shouting over music, just good coffee, a comfortable corner and time to actually talk to one another. Rok is built for exactly that. The team there serve 200 Degrees coffee, the space is bright and beautifully put together, and with seating spilling out into the garden it had a lovely, unhurried feel from the moment people started arriving.

Our host Claire had everyone settled and chatting in no time. A few of the group had come along on their own and did not know a soul walking in, but that is rather the beauty of a coffee morning. Pull up a chair, wrap your hands around a warm cup, and within a few minutes you are three conversations deep and wondering where the time went.

The morning drifted along in the best way. Fresh rounds of coffee, a bit of cake, and that easy, no-pressure atmosphere that makes these daytime socials so enjoyable.
