A touch of glamour in the city: our Dinner at the Ivy in Nottingham

Affinity members swapped the everyday for something a little more special on Thursday evening, gathering for dinner at The Ivy in the heart of Nottingham. Eight of us came together around the table for an evening of good food, easy conversation and that lovely buzz you only get when a group clicks.

The Ivy has long been one of the city's most glamorous places to dine, all warm lighting, botanical touches and that unmistakable sense of occasion the moment you walk through the door. It is the sort of setting that makes an ordinary Thursday feel like a proper night out, and it gave the evening a real sparkle from the very first drink.

Our host Claire had everyone settled and chatting.

The food, as you would hope from The Ivy, did not disappoint. Plates arrived beautifully presented, the service was attentive and friendly throughout, and there was plenty of the sort of "you have to try this" swapping that makes a shared meal so enjoyable. Jane summed the night up perfectly, calling it "tasty food, stunning surroundings and great company", while Kirsty simply declared "that was delicious!!!" and Michelle agreed her meal was "delicious", thanking Claire for a wonderful evening.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and threw themselves into the spirit of it. As Jackie put it, "thanks for organising Claire, had a lovely time", and that was very much the feeling around the table.

Eight of us made for a friendly, relaxed crowd, and The Ivy gave us a genuinely memorable evening in the city.

Meeting new people, sharing great moments and creating memories is what these evenings are all about, and Thursday delivered all three in some very stylish surroundings.
