Frequently Asked Questions
Discover how Affinity works, what happens at our curated events and how we ensure privacy, comfort and quality connections.
General
Affinity is a curated social networking club that brings people together through real-world experiences, not dating apps or open, unmoderated platforms.
We host thoughtfully planned social events, supporting the Nottingham hospitality industry. From dining and culture to music, themed parties and relaxed daytime experiences — all designed for people who value quality connections, good conversation and a welcoming atmosphere.
Affinity is designed primarily for adults aged 30+ who are ready to invest in their social life and enjoy meaningful, well-hosted experiences.
Many of our members:
- Are established in life but looking to expand their social circle
- Have moved to the area or experienced a life change
- Want to meet people without apps or awkward open meetings
- Value kindness, inclusivity and quality experiences
You can come with friends, but many people join on their own.
No. Affinity is not a dating service.
Our focus is on friendship, community and shared experiences. Any connections that form happen naturally, without labels or expectations.

Not at all. Many members attend events on their own, especially their first one.
Events are designed so you can arrive alone but never feel alone.
Our events vary throughout the year and may include:
- Dining experiences and supper clubs
- Live music, theatre and cultural outings
- Themed parties and social evenings
- Daytime socials, walks and relaxed catch-ups
Events are curated with intention, and numbers are kept manageable, although some events are larger than others.
That’s completely normal. Many members feel this way before their first event.
Our events are designed to be low-pressure, inclusive and hosted by people who care about creating a comfortable experience for everyone.
