Peak District Walk & Sunday Lunch – A Day to Remember

Our recent countryside walk in the Peak District was everything we hoped for - fresh air, beautiful scenery and a genuinely sociable atmosphere from start to finish.

Starting at Milldale, we followed the River Dove along the stunning valley towards Hartington. The route offered incredible views throughout, with a steady, relaxed pace that made it easy for everyone to chat, connect and simply enjoy being outdoors together.

A special mention has to go to the four-legged companions who joined us 🐾 From splashing around in the river to proudly carrying sticks far bigger than themselves, they brought plenty of laughs along the way. It’s amazing how quickly conversations start when dogs are involved! They really do help bring people together.

After around two hours of walking, we arrived at the Devonshire Arms Hartington, where we settled in for a well-earned Sunday lunch. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and classic pub food were exactly what everyone needed after the walk, rounding off the day perfectly.

What made the day special, as always with Affinity, was the people. It was a relaxed, enjoyable day filled with great conversation, a bit of adventure and plenty of memorable moments — muddy paws included!
